Creating independent art viewers

While it doesn’t teach specific facts about art history, The Art Museum Insider teaches its readers to think like art historians, empowering them to analyze art for themselves rather than relying entirely on outside sources to shape their experiences. In addition, the skills and information within this book can be applied to many different types of art and images, rather than focusing exclusively on a small set of European artworks like many other art books.

About the author

I’m Alexandra, an independent art historian from the United States. I have a B.A. (with honors) in art history and the wholehearted belief that looking at art can enrich every person’s life. That’s why I’ve made it my mission to make historical art and architecture feel accessible to everyone by giving clear, useful explanations in plain English – without dumbing things down.
