I’m quickly becoming obsessed with the gargoyles of Westminster in London. I think they just have such a unique character that sets them apart from the rest. This little guy is more of a grotesque than a true gargoyle, but his charm is exactly the variety that I’m talking about. You can see more of the Westminster gargoyles in this lovely post by Gargoyle Girl. Her first photo is my favorite.
Alexandra Kiely, aka A Scholarly Skater, is an art historian based in the northeastern United States. She loves wandering down the dark and dusty corners of art history and wholeheartedly believes in visual art's ability to enrich every person's life.
Her favorite periods of art history are 19th-century American painting and medieval European art and architecture. When she not looking at, reading about, writing about, or teaching art, she's probably ice dancing or reading.

Hi there! It’s funny. I was just commenting on your goals post when I got this notification. There are lots of great gargoyles all throughout London and Paris. You can probably get a gargoyles guidebook, now that I think about it.
Interesting. I’m going to London and Paris very soon. I’ll look out for Gargoyles. I’m curious about the history now. Something spooky, I’m sure.

Interesting. I would have never noticed them probably. I’ll have to snap a photo or two.
